Ramie (Boehmeria nivea) is mainly grown in eastern Asia and belongs to the nettle family.
300/3 is more or less equivalent to 80/2 to 100/2 Egyptian cotton; the 250/3 is comparable to 70/2 Egyptian cotton.
Working with this fine thread is very pleasant, a bit like
linen thread. The thread shines but not too much, is strong and, just like linen, the threads do not
stick together but lie side by side – even ribbon yarn has this property - which gives a very successful
final result.
