The history of Sint-Truiden lace was looked up, the patterns were redrawn and worked out in lace. The archive of the Ursuline sisters was a good starting point. All this led to a beautifully published book including detailed patterns and drawings. In addition, an overview is given of the evolution of lace in Sint Truiden, from classical patterns to contemporary lace, with mention of a number of artists who have contributed to the evolution towards contemporary lace. The book contains many historical photos and contemporary lacework. It also provides the opportunity to download and copy original drawings made by the Ursuline Sisters of Sint Truiden, so that everyone can then convert them into their own lace work.
